Heteroflexible what is it?
Good evening everyone
Here it is, it is new, this term of heteroflexible (hetero-flexible in English) has just been released.
Recently I fell in love with a woman who told me she was heteroflexible! At first I laughed because I thought she had invented this term on purpose to avoid saying bisexual but in fact no, this word does exist. It was invented by the American sociologist Laurie Essig in 2000.
Another label and a term "co.n" you tell me !! And I tend to not like labels at all but out of curiosity I wanted to know if you've heard this term before, what do you think about it, what definition you would give it!
The woman who taught me this word does not consider herself bi, because according to her, to be truly bi, you must have been in love with men AND women and have had serious relationships with both! You must have been emotionally involved with at least one person of the same sex. And so a heteroflexible is someone who takes pleasure in having sex with people of the same sex but without sentimental involvement, without wanting to officially go out with these people.
If we follow this definition I would be flexible lesbian: D !!!
It all depends on the definition in fact! Because for me being bi is having relationships with people of the same sex EDIT AND the opposite sex. After that it is a question of percentage, more or less attracted by men or women. I didn't include the sentiment factor before in my definition, so maybe I'll review my copy. It is perhaps more complete indeed to integrate the notion of feelings or non-feelings in sexual practices.
Ah there that makes definitions all that to try to arrange us in boxes / drawers !!
While we are neither storable nor orderly!
