Despre mine
Although advancing in years ("mature", as they say) I like younger guys (from whatever's legal where youse are to, say, 50) for sex and friendship. And though brutally snipped before I could protest - it's still de trop in Oz - I have a fetish for foreskins (guys from the UK and Ireland most welcome). I can read French and German with a dictionary, but alas I only have "opera" Italian and the merest smidgen of Spanish/Portuguese/Latin-American. I can't speak a word of Czech, but gosh I love all those uncut Czechs!
Trolloping the 'Net for gay porn apart, I read heaps and have eclectic tastes: fiction, history, crime and mystery (but only by the best, like Dorothy Sayers, Raymond Chandler, Stieg Larsson and Peter Temple), biography, the history of ideas, Speculative Fantasy (most particularly Oregon's Ursula le Guin and the late Hoosier Kurt Vonnegut) and on and on ... . I love music and the theatre and am passionate about opera. I don't do sport.
What else? I am overeducated and underpaid. I was an Organic Chemist until I discovered how inept I was at the practice (though I still have a fascination for the theory). I started (but didn't finish) an MA(hons) in English Literature, and taught the subject to Year I students at Sydney University for four years.
My fifteen minutes of fame come as a result of lobbying (successfully in the event) for the introduction of FM radio to Australia, and I started an FM radio station specialising in "classical" music (it's streamed on the www at finemusicfm.com if you'd like to check it out). It has lasted for 40+ years so far, so I must have got something right. If you want to know any more about this bit of my life, Google me why don't you? (You'd better use my "real" name for this rather than my nom de hamster.)
I spent most of my working life as a Federal Public Servant in the communications policy and planning fields, until I was forced into "voluntary" redundancy aged 47.
I don't know whether you'll find it relevant, but I'm a Manic Depressive (the professionals prefer to call it Bipolar Affective Disorder, but I think the old term is more expressive). I also have a clinical anxiety disorder. ... ... Do not fear, but: both of these psycho-tragedies are kept in check by pharmaceuticals. I only keep my shrink for show!
Please note: I do not indulge in cam2cam (Skype etc.), so please don't ask!
